How We Plan to Grow
Why We Built Prosper
Prosper Local began with our family's desire to live more intentionally, eat fresher foods, and be more mindful about what we bring into our home.
We enjoy preparing homemade meals and choosing fresh ingredients whenever possible. As we became more intentional about how our family eats, we began paying closer attention to the food being grown and made around us.
We saw a gap. Farmers markets may only happen once a week. Roadside stands can be easy to miss. Backyard growers may have more produce than their families can use. Talented local makers may have something wonderful to offer but no simple way to reach their neighbors. At the same time, families who want to buy local may have no easy way to discover what is available a few streets away.
Prosper Local was created to help close that gap. We connect local growers, farms, makers, markets, food businesses, drivers, and neighbors through one community marketplace.
Our vision has also grown beyond commerce. We believe communities should have better ways to discover fresh food — whether they are shopping from a local grower or looking for trusted food assistance close to home.
Prosper Local is not trying to become the biggest marketplace in the world. We are building something more personal and more rooted in the communities we serve. When local people grow, make, sell, shop, share, and support one another, more opportunity stays within the community.
Fresh food. Local people. Local income. Stronger communities.
What We Stand For
Community First
Every decision we make starts with one question: does this strengthen the community? We optimize for neighbors, not algorithms.
Fair for Sellers
Local growers and makers work hard. We charge honest fees and build tools that help small sellers compete — not tools that extract from them.
Transparency
We tell you where your food comes from, who grew it, and how far it traveled. No mystery supply chains. No greenwashing.
Reduce Food Waste
Connecting surplus harvests with local buyers means less food goes to waste. We're building a more efficient local food system, one order at a time.
The Family Behind Prosper
Prosper Local started with a simple idea in our own home: make it easier for families to find fresh, locally grown food while creating more opportunities for the people growing and making things within our communities. What began as a family passion for fresher food and homemade living has grown into a marketplace built to strengthen local connections and local income.
